Gary Bales Falklands story "I jumped aboard a burning ship"
Gary Bales, who along with his colleague Dennis Betts, was given a British Empire Medal for jumping aboard a burning ship TWICE during the Falklands conflict to try and save her. The Atlantic Conveyor was a great strategic loss, because she was carrying the helicopters needed to fly British troops into battle at Port Stanley.
