Biggest rail strike in 30 years to affect Merseyrail
Train services across England, Scotland and Wales will run on a severely reduced timetable this week, due to the biggest walkout on the railways in thirty years.
The RMT union will take part in the first of three strikes tomorrow, over job cuts, pay and changes to working conditions.
Its also warned it will intensify industrial action if a deal over pay isn鈥檛 reached.
Merseyrail is preparing to shut down its entire network for three days because of the national rail strike.
No trains will be running on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Though its staff aren't involved in the RMT's dispute, due to the signallers employed by Network Rail walking out, it wouldn't be safe to run services.
Liam Robinson is in charge of transport for the Liverpool Combined authority.
