Essex commuters have been told to stay at home as the largest rail strikes for 30 years gets underway.
Up to 40,000 members of the RMT Union across the country are walking out for three days this week over pay and redundancy terms and conditions.
Only 20% of trains are running across the country after staff walked off the job at midnight. Many areas have no trains at all.
