Covid finally catches up with Andrew after more than two years, so there's no visit for Mum this week
Covid's back on the agenda for Mum and son Andrew. He finally catches the virus and is ill at home in Leeds. That means no visit for Carolyn who - thankfully - remains well at her house in Hull, sixty plus miles away. He's spent much of the last two and a quarter years worrying that Mum would get infected. But, despite pairs of carers calling to look after her four times a day, she's remained well. He reflects on taking Mum to get her first two vaccinations and her subsequent decline, which meant the booster jab had to be given at home. Andrew's grateful that next door neighbour Anne offers to get Mum fresh milk and puddings while he's out of action and looks foward to seeing her in person again. Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary was originally broadcast on 大象传媒 Radio Leeds.
