Exhibition of classic Ladybird books goes on display in Wirral
Cast your mind back to when you were little and the books you liked to read.
I'm sure in amongst the mix were one or two Ladybird books.
They were a staple of many a childhood library - covering topics from fairy tales, to how to read and write.
From today, a brand new exhibition will allow visitors to Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, in Wirral, to uncover the story of the talented artists who illustrated Ladybird books for more than 30 years.
'The Wonderful World of the Ladybird Book Artists' features an unparalleled collection of books, original artworks and artefacts and shows how the numerous, talented Ladybird illustrators played such an enormous role in the extraordinary success of the company in the 20th century.
Helen Day is the curator of the exhibition.
