Dreaming Walls: NYC’s famed Chelsea Hotel at a moment of transition
The Chelsea Hotel in Manhattan is a New York City cultural landmark. Over the decades it has hosted all kinds of luminaries, from Bob Dylan to Dylan Thomas. New documentary, Dreaming Walls: Inside the Chelsea Hotel, isn't so much an impressionistic tribute to this legendary hostelry and its denizens – but rather a portrait of its long term residential holdouts who remained in the hotel during a period of transition while it was being transformed into a boutique establishment. Tom Brook speaks to the Belgian filmmakers behind the documentary.
