Jaspreet Kaur is a poet, teacher and spoken-word artist. In Brown Girl Like Me she writes about her own experiences growing up in the UK and reflects on the lives of South Asian women today. Tackling everything from body hair to menstruation to dating, she offers advice on navigating these difficult areas, asks urgent questions how women's lives could be improved, and calls on everyone, across all areas of society to support them. In this first episode, Jaspreet considers her own mental health journey and the help on offer to British Asian women suffering from mental health problems.
