The Selecter's Pauline Black honoured for culture contribution
The lead singer of 2-Tone band The Selecter has received an honorary degree from the University of Warwick. Pauline Black, known as the Queen of Ska, joined the fledging The Selecter in 1979 and went on to release five top 40 singles in the UK. A Coventry resident for more than 50 years, she said she was "absolutely honoured" to be recognised. Black received a doctorate of letters for her contribution to culture. She's been talking to CWR Breakfast with Phil Upton.
