The return of the Ukrainian Premier League
The Ukrainian Premier League kicks off on Tuesday 23rd August, with all games being played in Ukraine at venues in Kyiv and the west of the country. The games will be behind closed doors and every stadium will have bomb shelters no further than 500m away in case there’s an air-raid siren during the match. Shakhtar Donetsk were top of the table when the war forced last season to be abandoned. They play Metalist Kharkiv on Tuesday.
