Up to 60 million people worldwide are amputees
According to the 2017 Global Burden of Disease report, about 60 million people worldwide are living with an amputation. It鈥檚 a life-changing experience that can be mentally traumatising, and management within the first six months greatly determines the healing process. In the Seychelles, 44-year-old musician Jean Marimba鈥檚 foot was amputated following an injury he sustained while sleeping. He spoke to 大象传媒's Millicent Akeyo about his recovery journey and how he rose above the trauma.
