Iran morality police: The lasting personal consequences
The death of Mahsa Amini, who collapsed in detention, has brought new attention to the personal experiences of other women who have been arrested or held by Iran's morality police.
Zeinab, a young woman who now lives in Turkey, is one of them. She describes being arrested by the morality police over her hijab and the lasting effects it has had on her: "To this day, even though I'm not in Iran for years now, when I see a van...immediately I get terrified. Sometimes, I reach to fix my scarf but there's nothing there."
