Uganda rules out lockdown to contain Ebola

Uganda鈥檚 President Museveni says lockdowns are not necessary to fight the latest Ebola outbreak.

Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni has decided against putting the Ebola-hit central region under quarantine to prevent the virus spreading to the rest of the country. He says lockdowns are not necessary and that they will tackle the virus 鈥渄ifferently鈥.

F茅licien Kabuga, who is one of the last main suspects in the 1994 Rwandan genocide 鈥 and once one of Rwanda鈥檚 richest men - has refused to attend the opening of his trial before a UN tribunal at The Hague, but judges have ruled that the case will proceed.
