Greg and Bella chat to Southampton's favourite son Craig David about his schooldays: what posters did he have on his bedroom wall? Was he a good student? Find out here!

Greg and Bella chat to Southampton's favourite son Craig David about his schooldays.

Craig shares memories of growing up in a two bedroom flat with his mum, and the entrepreneurial spirit that saw him launch a mini black market operation in chocolate bars during lessons, and later, printing mixtape covers in his college library to fund his vinyl obsession. He recalls loving music and having Destiny's Child posters on his bedroom wall, but feeling disconnected from the music lessons he got at school, which seemed outdated in comparison with the 90s Hip Hop he loved at the time. He talks about his experiences of being bullied, and how that bullying carried on into his professional career, and how he struggled to work out the best response. And he also shares his love of his English teacher Miss Davies, and Music teacher Miss Kershaw who were empathetic and understanding.
