What happens when, despite trying everything, IVF doesn’t work when you’re trying to conceive?

The actress Jennifer Aniston has spoken out about her experience of trying for years to get pregnant through IVF. She said, ‘all the years and years and years of speculation. It was really hard. I was…drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it.’

There are so many stories of eventual happy endings for those on the infertility road. So what happens when things don’t work out? And how do you build a life without children when you really wanted them?

Catherine Stafford, who went through a similar experience, spoke to Emma Barnett on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 4's Woman's Hour about her own IVF journey, the emotional strain and why she stopped trying to conceive.
