Sooty is coming to Birmingham! The golden bear will be at the midlands art centre tomorrow for a very special event- 70 Years On The Box This very special event celebrates the golden bear’s long (and furry) career, with live interviews and showings of rare episodes that haven’t seen the light of day since they were first broadcast.

A number of special guests will be on hand, including original Sooty producers Trevor Hill and Ed Pugh, plus former Sooty puppeteer Ronnie Le Drew, who was part of the Midlands Arts Centre’s well regarded puppet theatre in the early years of his career. And who knows? Maybe a certain yellow teddy bear may make an appearance…so long as it’s not past his bedtime.
