What do we know about the type of missile that hit Poland?

Experts are looking into the origin and type of missile which killed two people in Poland near the Ukrainian border.

Polish President Andrzej Duda says it's "very likely" the blast was caused by Ukrainian air defences attempting to defend against a barrage of Russian strikes.

The incident occurred on the day of one of the heaviest Russian bombardments of Ukraine with close to 100 missiles fired on cities across the country plunging seven million people into darkness.

But what do we know about the missile so far - and how will experts find out more? Colonel Brendan Kearney, a military affairs analyst and former Chief of Staff for America's Marine Forces Europe, explains.
