Comedian Tom Allen joins Greg and Bella for the last Breaktime of the series, to share his memories of growing up in Bromley.
From hosting a dinner party for his teachers, a choir trip to perform in a French campsite, his experiences of bullying, to ending up as Head Boy. He shares his embarrassment about growing up, and why his icon - age 9 - was Patricia Routledge from Keeping Up Appearances.
After a difficult time in primary school, he discusses finding his feet in secondary school, embracing his eccentricities and being grateful of the support of his favourite teachers Miss Jamieson who taught him RE, form tutor Miss Chandler and his lifelong friendship with drama school teacher Miss Hammond.
He also recalls his experiences of anxiety growing up, and the things that helped him manage it: from breaking in to the school hall to practice piano, to tidying the school technology cupboard. He also reveals how the death of his father inspired his latest book, 'Too Much' and how cathartic he found the process of writing the book.
