"Police didn't stop my stalker"
Clare was stalked for three years, leaving her frightened for her life. She says the police didn't take her seriously - and wants more to be done to bring stalkers to justice.
Clare - not her real name - was stalked by a stranger for three years. During that time, he threatened to shoot her, sent ambulances to her house and posted allegations online that she was a sex offender. She was left frightened for her life. Clare says she repeatedly reported his actions to the police, but they didn't take her seriously.
For 5 Minutes On, she tells her story to the 大象传媒's Anjana Gadgil. It comes as the National Stalking Consortium - a group of 21 expert individuals and organisations - launch a 'super complaint' against the police. They say officers aren't doing enough to investigate offences and protect victims, despite stalking becoming a specific crime in November 2012.
The National Police Chiefs Council says it recognises there is more to do to improve outcomes for victims - and it's working with the Crown Prosecution Service.
