Hydrotherapy pool for young people with special needs to stay open
The Wyvern Academy hydro pool is a small family friendly pool serving children and young people with learning difficulties.
But like so many swimming pools across the country, the leisure facility had been struggling to keep its head above water.
Spiralling energy bills, combined with a shortage of chemicals and a lack of staff meant its future look bleak, and when a closure notice arrived in August 2022, it looked like the end of the road.
But yesterday, operators Neptune Aquatic Solutions announced an agreement has been reached to keep it open.
Wheelchair user Tom Eaterbrook told 大象传媒 Radio Solent reporter Laurence Herdman he's delighted at the news, and explained why the pool is so important for users like himself.
