At least one potential major drug will be lost every two years as medicinal plants are threatened with extinction due to climate change and overexploitation, according to a medical journal. A 2020 report by State of the World Plant and Fungi journal says disruptions caused by global emissions and deforestation are wiping out indigenous plant populations used in medicine.
