Life at 50掳C: The Gulf: Killer Heat
This film examines the impact of extreme heat on migrant workers in the Gulf. It focuses on the large number of sudden, unexpected deaths - recorded as due to heart failure - among Nepali workers in Qatar. The film also examines the role of heat exposure on Nepali workers in the UAE, many of whom return home with chronic kidney disease, leaving them in need of dialysis for the rest of their lives. With the next year set to be one of the hottest years on Earth, Life at 50掳C presents the human impact of our changing climate.
