Cannop Ponds dams must be taken down
Forestry England says it cannot "do nothing" at Cannop Ponds.
The ponds which are in the heart of the Forest of Dean, were created 200 years ago to supply a waterwheel at Parkend Ironworks.
Today they are an idyllic place to fish, to walk and to cycle.
The dams that actually make the ponds, are so old that there are significant engineering issues affecting them.
