The baobab tree’s ability to survive under conditions of limited moisture makes it an important fruit tree of the modern-day. For some farmers in Kilifi country, Kenya selling their baobab to foreign contractors is a big economic opportunity.However, some environmentalist fear the kind of effects the uprooting and export of these trees can have on the ecosystem in the long run.
