They're regarded as heroes for protecting our country but now a group of veterans in Halton have become local heroes after helping make their local community a nicer place to live.

Over the next year, volunteers from Halton Veterans Legion CIC will be out and about each week clearing weeds, cutting back vegetation, sweeping footpaths and litter picking.
