The Sussex bunker that hides 2.4 billion seeds underground
In the heart of rural Sussex lies a treasure trove of scientific excellence. The Millennium Seed Bank hides an underground collection of more than 2.4 billion seeds from around the world, banking them to conserve them for the future.
In the sub-zero chambers, seeds are stored in flood, bomb and radiation-proof vaults. Krys O'Brien has been given a tour of the Millennium Seed Bank with Laboratory Manager, Keith Manger.
