The volunteers who search for missing people in Surrey
More than 2,100 people go missing in Surrey every year. Surrey Search & Rescue is a voluntary specialist search team that assists emergency services when vulnerable adults and children go missing.
The team is trained to find and give first aid to lost, missing or vulnerable people and evacuate them to safety. They operate in woodland, farmland, urban environments and around water when the emergency services need specialist skills. The team is on-call 24 hours a day to respond across Surrey and the surrounding areas.
