Artist Mousa Alnana invites us into the workshops he runs in Glasgow, where he believes ‘everyone has the right to make art;’ and opens up about his own highly personal artwork.
Mousa Alnana is a Syrian artist working in painting, graphic design, and tattoo art, who now calls Glasgow home. A Master’s Graduate from Glasgow School of Art, Mousa’s work draws from his own experiences and represents people who have had to struggle with seeking asylum just because of who or what they are. Mousa works on his current project, ‘unorthodox heretics’ focusing on the struggle faced by queer people in the Middle East. As well as showing us his own artwork, we visit one of Mousa’s creative workshops for others from migration backgrounds who have adopted the city as their new home.
