'Stay at home': Amsterdam wants rowdy British tourists out

Officials in Amsterdam have warned rowdy British tourists who descend on the city and binge drink, take drugs and have sex to stay at home.

Officials in the Dutch city of Amsterdam have warned rowdy British tourists who descend on the Dutch capital and binge drink, take drugs and have sex to stay at home.

It's part of a newly launched digital campaign targeting men between the ages of 18 to 35 in an attempt to clean up the city鈥檚 raunchy reputation.

Claire Martens, a councillor for Amsterdam West and member of the Dutch opposition party, said "they see Amsterdam unfortunately as a theme park".

She added that, it's not only British men who are causing a nuisance, in the last few years "all the British hen parties found Amsterdam as their place to party ... there are families living over there, they wake up to inflatable willy suits ... that's not really normal".
