Zanzibar island is known for its beautiful coastal beaches and rich history. But behind these island vibes exists a problem that has been affecting children since the 80’ - schistosomiasis also known as bilharzia. Infection is mostly through contaminated fresh water containing very small snails. Despite this, Zanzibar has made great strides in dealing with this stubborn snail.
