UK Emergency alert: What to do if you’re a victim of domestic abuse
Domestic abuse charities are concerned that the government’s nationwide emergency alert testing on smartphones on Sunday 23 April could have negative consequences for people who have an abusive partner, and a hidden second phone.
Head of Policy at the charity Refuge, Ellie Butt, tells Woman's Hour's Nuala McGovern why this could potentially be dangerous for those in abusive relationships, and how people can stop the emergency alerts from going off.
