Gauteng's civilian wardens report for duty
More than 4,000 crime prevention wardens have hit the streets of Gauteng in South Africa, as part of government plans to fight crime in the province.
Lesiba Thobakgale from South Africa鈥檚 Policing Union welcomes civilian assistance but social activist Yusuf Abramjee told Newsday his concern 鈥渋s that these wardens鈥ave only trained for three months and they鈥檝e been given firearms.鈥
