'We learned as a family how to support someone with dementia'
Planning a holiday can be stressful at the best or times, but for people and their families who live with dementia, it can be even more difficult.
Carol Sargent, from Burton-on-the-Wolds in Leicestershire understands that better than most. Carol set up dementia holiday company 'Mind for You' after her own experience of dealing with family members with dementia.
She's now taken her expertise in the field to launch a new business to encourage the travel, tourism and hospitality sector to welcome people living with dementia, and also to help their family carers.
Carol says the myths that persist around the ability of people with dementia to enjoy new experiences are unhelpful to both the dementia community and the hospitality industry as a whole.
Carol explains to Summaya Mughal why she is on a mission to change the narrative around the condition.
