Russia targets Kyiv in ninth air attack this month
Military authorities in Kyiv say Ukraine's air defences shot down all the Russian missiles fired at the capital.
Russia has launched its ninth missile attack on the capital Kyiv this month. The southern port city of Odesa was also targeted and blasts were heard in a number of other central Ukrainian regions.
Kyiv's military administration said a missile attack had been launched from Russian strategic bombers over the Caspian Sea. Its head - Serhiy Popko - said initial indications suggested all the incoming missiles had been destroyed.
Newsday heard from Inna Sovsun, she's an Ukrainian MP and former Deputy Minister for Education and Science who lives in the capital Kyiv.
"They are obviously testing the air defence system around Kyiv. Prior to early May for almost two months we didn't have any attacks in Kyiv at all and then it started very intensely."
"These attacks are exhausting but they also cement our spirit... so there is no feeling that we should negotiate [to end the war]."
