Gloucestershire NHS boss on closures of maternity wards

Gloucestershire NHS bosses say they need to recruit 30 more midwives before they can fully reopen maternity wards in the county.

Cheltenham's Aveta Birth Unit and Stroud's six postnatal bed will be closed until at least October 2023.

The Chief Executive of Gloucestershire's NHS Trust told Mark Cummings that they are looking at international recruit to help support the current crisis.
