We are going behind the headlines and finding out about the lives of those living in Stoke on Trent.
There鈥檚 over one thousand one hundred of those seeking asylum in our city.
大象传媒 Radio Stoke鈥檚 Bongi Msimanga, spoke to an asylum seeker from Albania, she鈥檚 a mum of two and came to the UK over 6 years ago.
The Home Office says it鈥檚 unable to state what the average waiting time is for an asylum interview and decision making but the Prime Minister has pledged to clear the backlog of more than 90 000 asylum decisions relating to claims made by June 2022.
