Life after the Armed Forces

Life after the military wasn't easy for John Walker MBE, his route to living a civilian life involved alcohol addiction, relationship breakdowns and struggling to find a focus. He'd been in the Navy for 35 years. John was supported by the Coventry recovery service, Change, Grow, Live and was able to make steps towards his new life where he's found employment outside of the Navy and no longer drinks alcohol.

He now mentors others at OpCourage, an NHS service that supports the mental health of veterans.
Lynne Davidson from Rugby is also involved in the work of OpCourage, she was a nurse for 12 years in the Army, RAF and the Navy.
They both spoke to 大象传媒 CWR's Phil Upton ahead of Armed Forces Day on Saturday 24th June.
