Radio 1’s Sian Eleri begins an investigation into a seemingly ordinary farmhouse in north Wales that was once known as the most haunted house in Britain.

Radio 1 presenter Sian Eleri investigates a seemingly ordinary farmhouse in north Wales, which, in the late 1990s, was widely considered the most haunted house in Britain.

The story made local and national headlines as the family who lived at the farm became ever more desperate in their search for answers. More than 300 allegedly paranormal events were documented at the Flintshire farmhouse in video footage, audio interviews, photos and eyewitness accounts – all of which has been locked away until now.

Reports ranged from words and pictures appearing and disappearing on the walls, to objects moving around the house. Multiple witnesses reported seeing a hooded figure and the ghost of a girl rumoured to be buried in the garden.

With exclusive access to the case archive and to those at the heart of the case, Sian – who was raised in north Wales - sets out to uncover what really happened at Penyffordd Farm. She starts out as a sceptic, but in a series of chilling and increasingly bizarre twists and turns, is left questioning everything she thought she knew.

In this first episode, Sian discovers that the family who lived at Penyffordd Farm became so desperate for answers, they called in a specialist psychologist for help. When Sian meets Dr Daniels, she discovers that despite investigating the events at the farmhouse for several years, he was never able to fully explain what happened there. Out of all the many apparently paranormal cases of his career, this is the one that has always stayed with him and still perplexes him to this day.
