Republican strategist: ‘Trump won’t win 2024 election’
Donald Trump has described his latest court appearance as a "very sad day for America", after pleading not guilty to conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Mr Trump faces three separate criminal trials in the coming months but remains the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination for next year's election.
Rina Shah is a political strategist and former senior staffer to two Republican congressmen. She told Newsday: “I don’t think Donald Trump can make it past the general election…I just don’t think that the American electorate wants a president that lost in 2020…you don’t get another bite of the apple”.
