Weymouth's plus-size paddler on taking the plunge and getting on a paddleboard
Sarah Blues, 31, founded 'Plus Size Paddler' - an online community campaigning for change when it comes to making paddle boarding more accessible to all women.
At first, Sarah didn't feel confident enough to take up the sport because she couldn't see anyone that looked like her doing it. But during the first lockdown in 2020, she took the plunge and purchased her first board - something she describes as a ''liberating moment''. Now, Sarah's on a mission to empower all women to have the confidence to start paddle boarding. She's also campaigning for kit manufacturers to increase their range of sizes, so plus-size women can take up the sport more easily, without feeling excluded.
