Man City: 100 years since first game at Maine Road
Manchester City marks a very special anniversary this year.
It was 100 years ago when the first football match took place at the long-time home of Manchester City: Maine Road.
The blues beat Sheffield United 2-1 on 25th August 1923 in front of 58,000 fans.
The stadium cost 拢100,000 to construct, and remained the club's home until 20 years ago, when they moved into the City of Manchester Stadium - now the Etihad.
Mike Sweeney chats to Manchester City historian and fan, Gary James, about the club's history as they moved to and from Maine Road over the past century.
