Trump's mugshot 'a powerful statement about the rule of law in America'
Donald Trump has surrendered in Georgia on charges of plotting to overturn the state's 2020 election results in an arrest that saw the first ever mugshot of a former US president.
Georgia is the fourth criminal case Mr Trump is fighting, but he denies all charges, saying they are politically motivated.
''Georgia had been a target of Donald Trump's campaign to overturn the election," says Clark D Cunningham, Professor of Law at Georgia State University.
"He really sent a lot of hostility to Georgia and had denigrated our system of justice so to be booked here is really a powerful statement about the rule of law in America.''
