Sarah Beeny: ‘You’re not on your own. Everyone else goes through it too’

TV presenter Sarah Beeny spoke to Nuala McGovern on Woman’s Hour about receiving her breast cancer diagnosis last summer.

Discussing the support she received from friends and family, Sarah said she wanted to reassure others that cancer’s not something you have to go through alone.

She also explained how she feared cancer more before she had her diagnosis than after it. Sarah’s mother died of breast cancer aged 39 when Sarah was 10.

Sarah found out she had cancer while she was writing her new book, The Simple Life: How I Found Home. The book is about the many homes she's lived in, including her latest move to a former dairy farm in Somerset.
