A school in Leicester is among more than a hundred across the country that has been told to close because it's made of a certain type of concrete which is prone to collapse.

Willowbrook Mead Primary Academy in Thurnby Lodge has released a statement saying that its Main Office and Key Stage 2 block are affected.

The government has told more than a hundred schools that buildings they use containing reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) which is prone to collapse. Head teachers will need to find alternative classrooms until repair work is carried out.

Whilst students at Willowbrook Mead Primary end their first week of the school term with home-learning, students at another Leicester Primary School are continuing to be taught in temporary accomodation.

Mayflower Primary is believed to have been one of the first schools to be ordered to close because of structural concerns - that was back in April.
