Worried about going to a club, or making friends during Freshers 2023? This group of students in Oxford reveal their do's and don'ts, with top tips on clubbing and societies.
It can be a daunting time. Going to uni is a big step towards independence. And the lifestyle could be completely different to the one you had before. It can be hard to know what to do to prepare for Freshers, a time synonymous with repeated nights out, or being social. There are lots of events on, and many students struggle with buying tickets in advance to the right ones - and also more generally what to do when you get to a club, especially if you're worried about making friends.
But what about finances - what's the best way to manage your money during Freshers, and what if you don't like drinking? In this episode of 5 Minutes On, journalist Owen TJ and DJ J-Fresh hear from a group of students in Oxford, who reveal their experiences and tips for those people joining university for the first time. To help you navigate through the first few weeks, hear how you can stay safe and still have a great time and make friends.
