Episode 8

Episode 8 of 8

Aamer is torn between his ever-increasing workload and his responsibilities as a father. An announcement from the chief constable of Police Scotland shocks Aamer and the team.

Aamer’s long-serving and loyal assistant Naz struggles to keep up with her boss’s ever-changing schedule as the biggest public inquiry in British history begins. Aamer himself must relocate to London to fight on behalf of the Scottish Covid Bereaved.

Navigating three public inquiries, travelling between the nations’ capital cities and staying abreast of the rest of The Firm’s workload is beginning to take its toll, and Aamer worries that he will burn out.

He takes his three children on a weekend away and explains to them that he is busier now than he has been at any other time in his life. Just as the workload for the Sheku Bayoh public inquiry is about to ease, Aamer receives news from Police Scotland that will change policing forever. A lifetime of work comes to a head, but The Firm is only just getting started in its fight for the underdog.
