The Windsor Framework - A new era for Northern Ireland?

Chris Page explains why trade with Northern Ireland has been one of the most difficult issues to resolve since the UK voted to leave the European Union.

Since the UK voted to leave the European Union in 2016, the question of where Northern Ireland fits into new trading arrangements has been one of the most difficult and divisive issues to resolve.
When he was the UK prime minister, Boris Johnson came up with the Northern Ireland Protocol, which introduced new checks on goods at ports. Some unionist politicians and businesses were unhappy about those arrangements, which they said created a border in the Irish Sea. When Rishi Sunak took over at Number Ten, he developed the Windsor Framework, with the aim of addressing those concerns.
Key elements of that deal come into force this weekend. For this episode of Five Questions On, our Ireland correspondent Chris Page explains what the changes could mean for the people and politics of Northern Ireland.
