"Terrorist" - Why the 大象传媒 doesn't use the word

The 大象传媒 defends its long-standing policy not to use the word terrorist without attribution - following criticism from both the government and opposition parties.

The executive responsible for the 大象传媒's editorial guidelines has defended the corporation's decision not to describe Hamas fighters as "terrorists". The long-standing policy has come under criticism from both the government and opposition parties -- with the defence secretary Grant Shapps saying it "verges on disgraceful". But David Jordan said it was designed to prevent accusations of bias, and keep the trust of audiences. In this episode of our 5 Minutes On podcast he sets out the 大象传媒's position to our Media Editor, Katie Razzall.
