Worcestershire libraries plan dubbed ‘outrageous’

What if you went in to a library, but nobody was there to help you? Council chiefs in Worcestershire are being pressured to drop plans to have libraries' staffed hours reduced, but open for longer.

The 'Libraries Unlocked' project is already in place in Droitwich and Stourport, with plans to do the same at St John's Library in Worcester.

Our reporter Tom Edwards went to a public meeting where 1,500 people have signed a petition calling for the plans to be dropped.

The county council say they've had "really positive feedback" to the changes they've already done to the libraries in Droitwich and Stourport, saying they've become "even more valued" now people can visit later in the day.
