Stonea has one of the country's "most bashed bridges"

A resident says new signage hasn't stopped crashes at the low bridge in Stonea.

A man living next to one of the most bashed bridges in Britain says new "low bridge" signage hasn't stopped crashes.
The bridge is in Stonea on the B1098 Sixteen Foot Bank Road, at a remote spot in the Fens between March and Manea.
Recently Network Rail installed bright new signage to warn drivers - foot-high neon letters reading 'Low Bridge'.
James Fuller lives next to the crossing has been speaking to John Devine.

Cambridgeshire County Council have told us: "We have reviewed this location and we will be replacing the road markings and installing new signage. These works should be completed by the end of the year."

A Network Rail Anglia spokesperson said: 鈥淎t Stonea we have recently installed large Low Bridge signs and replaced warning chevrons that had been hit and damaged by road vehicles. We鈥檝e provided the new warning signage to help reduce the likelihood of future strikes. Previously we also added a protection beam to minimise the impact of collisions on the operation of the railway, and improve safety for motorists. However, even with these precautions, we really need drivers of larger vehicles to take better care by knowing the height of their vehicles and choosing suitable routes before they head out on journeys.鈥
