When Ruhama Wolle was a bridesmaid three times in quick succession, she resigned from all future bridesmaid requests.

She wrote an open letter to her family and friends explaining her decision, which has gone viral.

In Glamour Magazine, she wrote: 鈥淭o my dear friends, cherished family, and maybe even future friends 鈥� consider the bouquet tossed. Spare me from future bridal party pleas. I adore you all, and I mean it when I say I鈥檇 do almost anything for you. But one more stint in a satin dress? That鈥檚 where I draw the line.鈥�

Having spent over $4,000 on weddings and bridesmaid duties in the past 18 months, she told Woman鈥檚 Hour presenter Anita Rani about the mixed reaction to her decision, and why there needs to be a larger conversation about the pressures on bridesmaids.
